Welcome

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of The Eyed Entity Podcast, a passion project in its second phase (and a long time coming).

The podcast emerges from The Eyed Entity Project, a year long personal project deconstructing the practice of Developmental Transformations in the experience of early profound grief.

The project, started in December 2022, centered on the intrapersonal and interpersonal work related to re-engaging with the world after profound loss and a worldwide pandemic. Over the course of the year, concepts from Developmental Transformations were utilized in the navigation of grief while encountering the other, as well as opening queries of self-discovery and personal growth. What emerged was a pilgrimage to the self, done so across the internet, the globe, and in unfamiliar environments.

What happens when we release the roles in which we have used to center our identity throughout our life? No longer identifying in service of others, what matters most emerged: if not now, when? Who do I become when I give myself permission to seek delight? What brings me joy? What are my preferences? The answer? Creativity. Connection. Community. …And doing things anyway, even when scared. Even when your heart is broken. Even when you’re unsure the pathway through.

As a result, the journey led to self-empowerment, finding a voice I hadn’t known how to access, and younger versions of myself I had let slip away in the face of societal expectations, “adulting”, and messaging I had internalized through relationships throughout my life. It was a journey of delight, discomfort, and serendipity. The more I began to make choices aligned with my own delights and preferences, the brighter I felt my inner compass spoke.

It’s been almost a year since the conclusion of The Eyed Entity Project, and though the year has looked quiet from the outside, there has been movement towards the next chapter. With the introduction of this podcast, we’ve arrived at Chapter 2. The Eyed Entity Podcast.

I’m still interested in the duality of holding grief whilst experiencing life, the beauty and the pain of loss present at the same time. (I have no choice in the matter, truthfully.). I’m still interested in the phenomenon of creativity and expression through the creative arts- music, theatre, art, dance, writing. But i’ve covered my own journey and curiosities in the Project. Now it’s time to sit down with others and hear from them: what makes your heart beat faster? How do you negotiate your preferences in the face of difference? What does your creative process look like, and how do you know when you are on the right path? How do you know when you’ve strayed from what you want? what you want to create? what you want to do?

I’ve got some great guests lined up to sit down and chat with me about a BUNCH of topics. Grief, creativity, relational encounter, community organizing, theatre, and a lot more. I can’t wait to share it with you.

What makes you, you?

What makes your heart beat faster?

Episode one drops December 20, 2024, an introduction of what to expect on this journey. More information will be provided as we get closer to the day. Hope you’ll join us!
